Theory Test

The Driver Theory Test is designed to test learners’ knowledge about:

  • rules of the road
  • road and traffic signs
  • awareness and attitude
  • safety
  • accidents, documents and vehicle requirements

You have 57 minutes to answer 50 multiple-choice questions. The pass mark for this part of the test is: is 43 out of 50.

Hazard Perception Test

The next step is the Hazard Perception Test. You will be shown 14 video clips which feature every-day road scenes. To achieve a high score you’ll need to respond to dangerous road situations and developing hazards.

The maximum you can score is 5 points for each hazard. The pass mark for the this part of the test is: 44 out of 75.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION:

When you arrive at the Theory Test Centre, you will need to present BOTH the paper and photocard parts of your driving license. You will not be allowed to sit your Theory Test without these documents but will still be charged.
